Aaron Kwok concert

Â
A friend flew in this morning from Hiroshima, Japan to attend Aaron Kwok concert tonight. I promised I’d go with her.
My family were surprised that I actually knew about this asian artist - before I headed out, they asked “I didn’t know you’re into asian stars..”Â
“I’m not.”  Really. I’m not a fan of Cantopop… so Aaron Kwok is the first chinese pop star concert I’m attending.
But I heard great things about his shows.
I’ll update you later.
*********************************
Jessie is a 25 yr old Taiwanese-Canadian girl teaching English in Hiroshima, Japan. She’s a huge Aaron Kwok fan and swears her loyalty through his 17 long year career… since she was 8yrs old.Â
So when Aaron Kwok announced he’ll be having a concert this year, I got her tickets for Saturday and Sunday (in case she wants a different night or something). She jumped up and down and screeched on the phone and booked her flight from Fukuoka to Hong Kong to attend - both nights (thank God she’s brought a friend along to go with her on Sunday… I don’t think I can do another Aaron back to back).
She told me before we arrived to the stadium that she’s waited all her life to attend her first concert… and she made the point to make his concert her first. She dragged a fellow English teacher to take an overnight bus from Hiroshima to Fukuoka. Plane from Fukuoka to Taiwan, and then to Hong Kong. Cheaper flights that way. What a fan.
I gotta admit, Aaron is gorgeous. And SO INCREDIBLY WELL SHAPED FOR A 42 YEAR OLD. It didn’t really matter that I don’t know any of his songs or works or what he’s saying half the time… I mean — Like, drooooooooooool…….
Ahem. Sorry.
His concert took place at Hong Kong Coliseum in Tsim Sha Tsui. Jessie and I got there by taxi and she immediately bought one of those cheesy light beam thingies to wave in the concert.Â
It was kinda cute. When we finally sat down, she knew every song and swayed to it as though he was singing only for her. Waving her light beam stick thingy.
Now that’s a fan.
The most impressive thing for me is the stage design and setup.Â
Of all the concerts, this has been the longest concert I’ve ever been to — 3 and 1/2 hours long.  I was ready to bolt out and jump on a taxi home to bed — until he come out for his encore in a white cotton pant suit in a 4″ inch deep pool, and all wet. GAWD. He kicked, frolicked and splashed water to the front rows. All the women at the front rows were all smiles and giggles.
I knew I should’ve bought the most expensive tickets and get the pervert seats.
BUT! I was a trooper! After Aaron Kwok, I took Jessie to Lan Kwai Fong (y’know, THE party place in Hong Kong, I hope you remember that). Anyway, we somehow managed to jump the queue to get into the NEW and HIP club ”Beijing” cause we knew someone who knew the owner. It’s the same thing for other clubs that I went to… I don’t know why Hong Kong club scene is so esoteric. I guess everyone is curious enough to wanna check out these places.Â
And there are a lot of people over here.
So that’s it for this NaBloPoMo post. Stay tuned for the next day that I have to write shortly.

FancyMomma — if all Asian guys look this fine, I’ll be happy to make my family proud and hook up with one of them. Mmmm, Mmmm, mmmm. My friend Jessie from Japan is planning on bringing binoculars and ice-cream to her second attendance for his concert next night. We laughed about it, but I’m pretty sure she’s serious.Â

[...] I wish I had spend the entire 7 days in Kyoto. I only managed to see the Gion district and several Geishas on the street. I vow to return to Kyoto another time… hopefully during the cherry blossom period. I can just see it now. Then off I went deep into the heart of Hiroshima. I made good use of my JR pass. By the time I was in Hiroshima (Thursday) and met up with my girl Jessie in Hiroshima, I was out like a light when my head hit the pillow. [...]
